I started out working as a community dietitian, then worked in the hospital setting for a little bit. Once I had kids I started my own consulting business with many different corporate groups, working at long term, assisted livings and hospice and home care as well. I also have worked with some food chains and corporations/physicians doing wellness and have really enjoyed this as well.

I started in clinical nutrition, working in a big hospital right out of my internship. After about a year, I took some time off to travel and when I came back to Canada I decided to start my own consulting business, and ended up working at a jail!  Really, I worked for the company that provided the meals for Ontario inmates, but the kitchen was attached to a jail, so it was an interesting environment.  After that, I worked in long term care, which I loved! Then, the opportunity to work in the north came up, and I moved to the Arctic for my current position.

My diverse nutrition background includes clinical, teaching, research, wellness and private practice.

My career path has been a bit unusual. While I was in college and graduate school studying nutrition, I worked as a personal trainer in corporate gyms. Once I graduated and became an RD, I left the fitness industry and started working as a clinical nutritionist at a large NYC hospital; however, my heart wasn’t in clinical and I missed the fitness/wellness industry. I then started working in the wellness industry for a couple of years and finally left to start my own nutrition private practice and consulting business. I am able to combine my love for nutrition and fitness and share it with my clients. My other passion is teaching so I started as an adjunct lecturer at a local college. I teach 1-2 classes a semester and it’s a nice compliment to having my own business.

I work both in the private sector as the owner of Integrative Nutrition Solutions, a private nutrition consulting company, as well as in long term care in multiple skilled nursing facilities. At Integrative Nutrition Solutions, I work inside a naturopathic wellness center, Fresno Holistic Medicine, where I collaborate with a Naturopathic Doctor (ND), holistic psychologists, and a chiropractor.
